At the moment he’s considered
his country’s best rider and the
only one who participates to
high-level contests. He lives in
Germany where he also keeps his
horses, competes a lot in Europe
and has been engaged all Summer
in many contests in Italy.
“Israel - he says - is a very
young country that hasn’t got a
great sports tradition except
for football and basketball.
Horse-riding is a sport niche,
not very well-known and mostly
performed as an hobby”. In order
to professionally horse-ride he
left his country when he was 16
and has competed ever since. He
dreams of participating to the
Olympics, even if right now the
Olympic rules don’t allow
professionals to compete; an
anachronistic rule that doesn’t
involve tennis and basketball
players.
In 2003 he won the San
Patrignano Grand Prix and in ’99
he came 16th among the best
European riders. Good results
achieved with horses mostly
without Grand Prix experience.
“I don’t own any horses myself -
he continues - and for this
reason I have never managed to
train them properly in order to
reach higher levels”. He
lovingly remembers the horses
with which he shared the most
important experiences,
especially Billy, the one he
competed with in his first Grand
Prix.
